Tineke Tile Collections

Tineke collaborated with Maison to create multiple tile collections Muziek, Dans, Speel and most recently Uniek.

Muziek  was inspired by the luxury, glamour, and modernism of the Art Deco movement. Each design features uniquely large-scale patterns to allow freedom of movement and expression in the tile’s final configuration.

Dans plays homage to the grace and passion of the world’s most iconic dancers.  With geometric forms choreographed in precise movements, these unique patterns bring bold energy and rhythm to any space.

Speels celebrates the spirit of playfulness in all we do.  The organic shapes and jewel like forms bring a lively sense of joy to this collection.

Uniek is about being the only one of its kind, or having no equal. The worn textures and natural hues of our new Tunis stone make the Uniek collection suitable for pairing with eclectic materials and décor to create a stunning home space. Designed by Tineke Triggs, Uniek’s 13 unconventional, one-of-a-kind patterns range from serene and understated to bold and playful, and always unequaled in their ability to express your vision. While just ¼” thick, Tunis stone is incredibly durable—offering a new dimension in both design and application.

  • Inspired by Music, The Tineke Triggs Tile Collection Creates Harmony

By Written by Kat McEachern | Photography by Thomas Kuoh

After repeated instances of envisioning the perfect tiles for a particular project but being unable to source them on the market, Tineke Triggs knew she needed to take things into her own hands. The result was the Tineke Triggs Tile Collection. Carried by tile dealers nationwide, the hand leathered Italian marble collection is timeless and elegant.

The first line in the collection is entitled Muziek, in homage to Tineke’s Dutch roots as the name means “music” in Dutch. She says, “Because the Art Deco period was so heavily influenced by the music movement, the name just stuck.” Individual designs are all inspiring and artistic individuals of that era, such as Basie, Ellington, Hemingway, and Dali.

Just as creative as the namesakes of the products, the collection itself would work well in many applications. Tineke says, “I can envision anything from an amazing fireplace wall or an accent wall behind the bed to the more obvious entryway or bathroom flooring and kitchen backsplash uses. The designs are unique in their use of larger scale patterns which means you can introduce texture and pattern in a space without completely overwhelming it.”

    By Kitchen & Bath Online

Muziek from Tineke Triggs Tile Collection is a new collection by interior designer Tineke Triggs. Inspired by the luxury, glamour and modernism of the Art Deco movement, Muziek’s 12 distinctive designs, including Tallulah, are united in their bold geometric forms, exotic style and exuberance of a bygone era. Each design is made with fine Italian marble and hand-leathered finishes. The new Muziek tile collection is the first of many in the works from the San Francisco designer.

  • Art Deco Inspired Tile from Tineke Triggs

    By Anne Sage Online

There’s no question that tile is having a moment. From standout encaustic patterns to playful terrazo colorways, tile is trending in a major way! I’m loving all the creative installs I’m noticing for tile, everything from forward-thinking kitchen and bath applications to fireplace surrounds, patios, and floor-to-ceiling statements! Designers are stretching themselves in new directions with this timeless material, and it’s so fun to see.

Since I’ve got tile on the brain lately, I was immediately intrigued by the just-launched Muziek line of tile from designer Tineke Triggs. San Francisco-based Tineke has been creating custom tile patterns for clients for years, and at last she’s made her designs available to everyone! The collection is inspired by the energy and dynamic movement of the Art Deco movement, in particular by the 1920’s architecture of the Tineke’s home city. As she explains, “It was a time when [San Francisco} was absolutely thriving, bustling with innovation and energy…the designs of that time were bold, exotic and full of ornate details.” Tineke even named each style in the collection after an historic figure of the time!

The collection is comprised of high contrast black-and-white designs, most of them geometric in nature but with a few curves thrown in for good measure. (For example, I adore the organic lines of Dali, which is number 4 above.) Custom colors are also available, including some tone-on-tone for a subtle effect like the bathroom floor in the header of this post. Head to Tineke’s website to see all the patterns and find out where to purchase the collection, and get ready to see these tiles everywhere because they’re truly something special!
